Seeing the light

I have always been shortsighted, so I suppose you could say that I’ve always had an interest in optical medicine, or ophthalmic medicine at its more commonly known. However, I never imagined that I would one day take up ophthalmic medicine as a career, and certainly never that I would get an Ophthalmic Surgeons Job, which would entail actually carrying out operations on people’s eyes in order to cure them of disorders which could actually endanger their sight. However, once I began to do the training I realized that it is an absolutely fascinating field of medicine, and I have never regretted my decision to follow this career path.
