There are both large and small vacuum pumps available. The vacuum pump size you choose will depend obviously on your requirement. Large vacuum pumps are good if you are looking for larger vacuums, but it will occupy more space and also consume more power. Even the small vacuum pumps are good enough due to the limitations of the large vacuum pumps. They do give you high efficiency. But they get overheated fast. So you cannot use the small vacuum pumps continuously.
