Home repair and conservation
Recently with money being a lot tighter than it used to, I find myself more and more reluctant to spend money on handymen to come to the house to do at least the simpler home maintenance jobs. As a single mother, every penny counts. And today there is so much information available online that the mystique of doing home repairs has vanished, especially plumbing. I read that the most common places where plumbing problems can show their unwelcome faces are in sinks, drains and toilets. Dripping washers in faucets are not too hard to fix and there seems to always be the problem with a running toilet to deal with. Unpleasant as it may be, everybody knows that it takes just a few cheap bits of hardware and a little know how. It seems more important now as we are trying to be aware of conservation too. In no time at all the running water has stopped. It’s better for the water bill too.
