Acne Topical Treatment for Adults

Acne is a problem that is typically associated with teens going through puberty, but adults can have acne, too.  It seems, though, that adult acne is harder to treat than it is for teens.  I’m not sure why this is.  Could it be that adults have thicker skin for acne topical treatments to penetrate?  Maybe it is because adults who have been trying to treat acne for a long time have become somewhat immune to over the counter topical treatments.

There is hope for adults with acne.  Your doctor can prescribe stronger topical treatments that contain antibiotics that kill the bacteria that cause acne.  These antibiotics can also help to keep the pores open to prevent acne.  If you haven’t thought about asking your doctor for an acne treatment, now is the time.
