When I shifted with my family from my New York residence to Chicago, everything was fine for a month. My wife, my two small children aged 4 and 6 and myself were very excited with our charming apartment facing a park.

Trouble started when my son aged four developed asthma and started frequent colds and wheezing. Doctors proclaimed it is allergic wheeze and we have to find the cause for the allergy. Ruling out causes, we were at a loss when my neighbour suggested getting an asbestos inspector to inspect the premises.

She said they had the same problem with her mother and the inspector helped identify and eradicate the source.

The asbestos inspector arrived, located a piece of broken asbestos roofing stacked in the loft which was emitting harmful fibres. My son is perfectly alright now and we are ever so thankful to the inspector for solving our problem.
