Webcast - An Overview
The term webcast is used to refer to a means of broadcasting video or audio over the internet. It is a confluence of the two terms web and broadcast. It is alternatively known as cybercast.
Webcasts can be classified as either live or recorded. In case of a live webcast, streaming media technology is used to deliver audio and / or video streams to the participant's computer. A webcast is a one sided communication where the participant has no way of actively participating in the presentation.
