This is an exciting period for people to travel an as there are now very few inaccessible places on this planet. But, wherever you want to travel to, you can guarantee there will be a travel site that can give you details on every location. Travel has become so easy that many people no longer even bother going to the travel agent and use websites exclusively to book their vacation and check  private jet rates . Generally travel agents cannot compete, at least financially, with the wealth of sites that can offer amazing discounts.

I know it is the norm now but I am not comfortable planning my once a year vacation like this. While this may be the way to book your holiday now, I still enjoy sitting front of a real person and not a computer screen. There always seems to be much more flexibility with a travel agent and you are able to ask for more details and change your mind with much more ease. I have never found it easy dealing with travel sites especially when I want to have a discussion with someone before I make a decision on something; plus on the very rare occasion you manage to get through to a support line, they are not as helpful as someone sitting in front of you.

How do you know what they are telling you is the truth because it won't be until you actually go away that you will find out. It is this fear of the problems that can occur and if they do happen it is too late that prevents me from being more trusting in the way that I trust my travel agent. Although I do know someone who waits for the last minute cancellations to come up on travel sites and books them every time, saving a good deal of money. When last minute vacations come up, you can end up saving a lot of money and she's gotten some wonderful vacations for almost half the cost.

This would be a great way to travel and I do envy her but I am required to give two months notice before I can take a vacation. I don't doubt for one minute that by using a travel site can be less expensive as you can also get discounts on tours and car hire by booking this way. Now I know I said that I book my vacation using a real travel agent but that doesn't mean I do not take advantage of the internet to carry out research on my chosen destination first. It may not be fair on my travel agent but at least I know if something goes wrong, I will have someone to complain to on my return.
